Shot on Super-8 by Anton Corbijn. I love this video. A huge inspiration.

Danny Way and his historic creation / Ju Yong Guan Gate, Beijing, China / 2005

Supposedly 25 million viewers in China watched Danny's jump.

The 65 foot roll-in, which sat on top of a 35 foot wall.

Danny's first attempts were without the guardrails along the side. Imagine that.

The crew who built the worlds largest ramp.
My only regret is not shooting more photos. I tried, but I also needed to film.
These are just a few of the 4x5's.

Hands down one of my favorite movies of all time.
Just re-released on DVD for the Criterion Collection.
Recognize the theme song?

Bill Strobeck / NYC / 2008
It's now ten years since I first met Bill Strobeck. He filmed most of Pappalardo's footage in i.e.. That was the first video part I edited myself and I was terrified.
We've worked together on every video since. Thanks for everything Bill!

MW / Sacramento / 2008
SLAP editor Mark Whiteley is a good dude and a great photographer. If you feel like making a worthy purchase, then invest in his book.

A few photos from November 5, 2008. Omar and I spent the day at home with J Mascis while Sarah Palin was quickly losing her shot at the Vice Presidency.

Jason Dill / Arizona Highway / 2008
Heading east or west, I can't remember. This was during one of the longer US road trips filming for Mind Field- two or three weeks, cross-country. I wish I would have kept a journal. Note the hat and the headphones (connected to a CD walkman).

Last September a few of us went up to Sacramento to stay at Stefans for the weekend. I'd made this little movie from the trip but accidently deleted it- or thought I did- however now it turns out I'd just saved it under the wrong name. So anyway, here it is- a lot of what goes on when nothing's going on. Don't expect much skating- I always put the pocket digi away when it's hammertime.
Arto Saari, Stefan Janoski, Omar Salazar, Jon Goemann, Dylan Rieder, Brandon Biebel, Sammy Winter, Reda, Liam, Joe Brook, and little Nathan Hertzler are the subjects.

Earlier I mentioned the 35mm point & shoot camera I bought in Tasmania...
Below are some scans. A little soft around the edges, but a nice look.

Tasmanian slide.

There were lots of long roads thru freshly cut forests, much of the land pillaged.

Wombat!

Camping table / Lake Burbury / Tasmania.

After Tasmania we went to Sydney for the Bondi bowl contest. Both spectators and media endured a blistering sun.

Grant Taylor was there.

As was Jeff Grosso!

Grant taking a rest after an epic padless run. And he didn't make the cut??

Just swam in from Bali.
